Getting there
Drive north from Jaipur on the Delhi highway past Amer and Kukas to Achrol village. The fort sits on the hill above the village. Because it's outside the city, most groups come by car, scooty or a hired tempo traveller – tell us if you need transport arranged.
The trek and the fort
The trail from the village climbs to the fort walls in a short, steady walk, with a few rocky steps near the top. The fort is in ruins, so walk carefully and don't climb broken walls. From the bastions you see the Aravalli ridges rolling towards Amer and the countryside around the highway.
Make a day of it
Combine Achrol with Amer on the way back, or with the resorts and dhabas along the Delhi highway. See our places near Jaipur guide for more day trips.
