Nahargarh trek route

The walking route starts on the old city side below the fort (near the Nahargarh Road / Purani Basti area – we share the exact meeting point on booking). A paved and stone path zig-zags up the hill for about 2 km. The first half is steady; the last stretch below the fort walls is the steepest. Photo stops come naturally – every switchback gives a wider view of the Pink City.

At the top you reach the fort ramparts and viewpoints. Fort entry (if you want to see Madhavendra Bhawan) is a separate ticket – see our Nahargarh Fort timings guide.

Best time for the Nahargarh trek

  • October to March: cool, clear mornings – the best season.
  • Monsoon (July–September): green hills and misty views; steps can be slippery.
  • April to June: only a sunrise batch; carry extra water.

Sunrise batches beat the heat and the crowds. Sunset treks are beautiful too, but always come down before dark.

How our guided trek works
