Shekhawati Painted Havelis Weekend
Overview
A weekend in Rajasthan's open-air art gallery. The towns of Shekhawati are filled with havelis covered in frescoes, built by wealthy merchant families. Wander painted courtyards in Nawalgarh, Fatehpur and Mandawa, stay a night in a heritage haveli or castle hotel, and return to Jaipur the next evening. Easy to combine with Khatu Shyam Ji or Salasar Balaji.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
- Day 1: Jaipur → Nawalgarh → Mandawa (about 170–180 km)
8:00 am – Pickup in Jaipur. Drive via Sikar to Nawalgarh and explore its painted havelis with a local guide (at extra cost). Continue to Mandawa, check in to a heritage hotel and walk through the old town's haveli lanes in the late afternoon. Overnight in Mandawa.
- Day 2: Mandawa → Fatehpur → Jaipur
Morning walk to more of Mandawa's havelis, then drive to Fatehpur for its frescoed mansions. Return to Jaipur by evening – or stop at Salasar Balaji or Khatu Shyam Ji for darshan on the way.
