It was constructed, in the year 1599-1608 AD by Rani Kankawati who was the wife of Raja Man Singh I, purpose is that it was built in memory of their son Jagat Singh. It is believed that the statue of Lord Krishna installed in the Temple is the same which Meera Bai worshipped when she was in Mewar City. As the statue of Lord Krishna was saved during the war.
